In the Community Survey, February 2009, the following questions were asked:
· C4 Are you a member of a Neighbour Watch Scheme?
The Yes response was 71% in Englesea Brook, 24% in Weston, 10% in Basford and Gorsty, and 0% elsewhere.
· C5 If not, would you be interested in joining one? Yes/ No.
The Yes response was 57% in Wychwood Village, 36% in Basford and Weston and under 25% elsewhere.
The Parish Plan Steering Group has met our local Cheshire Police co-ordinator, Hayley Goodwin, who is prepared to visit the Parish to talk about the benefits of such schemes and how they can be set up.
Ideally, each scheme should cover a small ‘local community’, your street or road, as smaller schemes seem to work best. To get started, all you need is a volunteer or two who will agree to be the local co-ordinators.
Please read the information on the links below which have been provided by Hayley for our community safety. Subsequently, should you want to join, please respond to the contact us on this web site and leave your contact details. If there is sufficient interest, we will invite Hayley to Weston, one evening in September, to explain Neighbourhood Watch in more detail.
