‘Parish Plan – what is it, and what relevance does it have to our busy lives?
A Parish Plan is prepared by the local community, as distinct from local or central government, to reflect what you consider to be the priorities for this parish. This can relate to any issue affecting our physical, social or economic environment. The preparation of Parish Plans is encouraged by the government. It is intended to help put pressure on the powers that be to ensure that they prioritise spending and decision making for our local area – in other words to spend public monies where we believe they are really needed. Those areas that have prepared a Parish Plan confirm that this actually works. For more information about parish plans go to the Cheshire Community Action website or for an update of parish plans in Cheshire see the latest Parish Plan Roundup.
